From the frozen peaks of the Frostspire Mountains in the north to the sun-drenched shores of the Azure Isles in the south, Orenda is a realm of staggering diversity and breathtaking beauty, where towering mountains, dense forests, sprawling plains, and treacherous deserts coexist in a delicate balance.

At the heart of Orenda lies the Emerald Vale, a tranquil land of rolling hills and fertile valleys that serves as a crossroads between the disparate regions of the continent. Here, amidst verdant meadows and shimmering streams, the great cities of Orenda rise like monuments to the ingenuity and perseverance of its inhabitants. The Emerald Citadel, seat of the continent's ruling council, stands as a beacon of hope and unity in a world fraught with conflict and uncertainty, its towering spires reaching towards the heavens as if to touch the very stars themselves.

To the north of the Emerald Vale, the Frostspire Mountains loom like a fortress wall, their snow-capped peaks casting long shadows across the land below. Within their icy depths lie ancient dwarven citadels and treacherous passes, where the hardy folk of the north eke out a living amidst the harsh embrace of winter. Here, amidst the howling winds and swirling snows, tales of forgotten kings and lost treasures echo through the halls of time, beckoning brave adventurers to seek their fortune in the frozen wastes.

To the east of the Emerald Vale lies the Heartwood Forest, an ancient woodland steeped in magic and mystery. Its towering trees form a canopy that blocks out the sun, casting the forest floor in perpetual twilight and concealing hidden groves and enchanted glades. Here, amidst the whispering leaves and gentle murmurs of the wind, the Sylvanfolk dwell in harmony with the land, their ancient traditions and timeless wisdom passed down through generations.

Westward from the Emerald Vale stretches the Ashen Wastes, a desolate land of barren plains and windswept dunes. Scorched by the flames of ancient wars and plagued by fierce sandstorms, this forsaken land is home to nomadic tribes and fearsome beasts that roam the wastes in search of prey. Here, amidst the shifting sands and crumbling ruins of forgotten civilizations, dark forces gather and ancient evils stir, their presence casting a shadow over the land like a looming storm on the horizon.

Off the southern coast of Orenda lie the Azure Isles, a chain of tropical paradises bathed in the warm embrace of the sun. Their shores are fringed with palm trees and white sand beaches, and their waters teem with colorful coral reefs and exotic sea creatures. Each island is a jewel of natural beauty and wonder, inhabited by tribes of islanders who live in harmony with the land and sea, their lives intertwined with the rhythms of the ocean and the tides.

In the southern reaches of Orenda rise the Celestial Peaks, a range of towering mountains said to touch the very heavens themselves. THE GROWING DARKNESS​

A darkness stirs, its tendrils reaching out from the depths of the northern wastes like icy fingers creeping across the land. It is a darkness born of ancient evils, whispered of in the darkest corners of taverns and muttered about in the hushed tones of frightened villagers. For centuries, the people of Orenda have lived in fear of this encroaching shadow, knowing that one day it would return to plunge the world into chaos and despair.

At the heart of this growing darkness lies a figure shrouded in legend and myth, a dark lord whose name is spoken only in hushed whispers. Some say he was a sorcerer of immense power, banished from the world for crimes too terrible to name. Others claim he is the reincarnation of an ancient evil, a being of pure malice and hatred bent on the destruction of all that is good and pure. Whatever the truth may be, one thing is certain: his return heralds a time of great peril for the world of Orenda.

But the dark lord is not alone in his quest for power. From the depths of the northern wastes come the orcish tides, vast armies of orcs and goblins led by warlords hungry for conquest and bloodshed. Their drums echo across the land like the beating heart of a monster, driving fear into the hearts of all who hear them. Villages are razed, crops plundered, and innocent lives lost as the orcish hordes sweep across the land like a plague, leaving nothing but destruction and despair in their wake.

Yet the orcish tides are but the vanguard of a greater darkness, for there are rumors of other evil tribes lurking in the shadows, far more horrifying and twisted than any orc. Creatures of nightmare and shadow, they are said to dwell in the darkest corners of the world, their forms twisted and deformed by the corrupting influence of the dark lord. Some say they are the remnants of ancient civilizations, twisted by dark magics and driven mad by centuries of isolation. Others claim they are creatures of pure malevolence, spawned from the darkest depths of the abyss and unleashed upon the world to sow chaos and destruction.

RACES OF ORENDA

Dwarves:

• Highland Dwarves: From the craggy peaks of the Ironspine Range emerges the stout folk known as the Highland Dwarves. Their halls delve deep into the mountainsides, where they forge works of unmatched craftsmanship. Adorned in armor etched with ancient runes, they stand as stalwart guardians of their ancestral homes.

 

• Dourstone Dwarves: Deep beneath the earth, in the echoing chambers of the Underrealm, dwell the Dourstone Dwarves. Masters of stonecraft and arcane lore, they hoard the secrets of ages past. Their citadels are impregnable fortresses, safeguarding relics of forgotten epochs from the grasp of covetous hands.

 

• Mireland Dwarves: Amidst the mist-shrouded swamps and tangled marshlands, the Mireland Dwarves make their abode. Masters of alchemy and herblore, they concoct elixirs of great potency from the flora and fauna of their murky domain. With bow and blade, they defend their domain from all who would trespass upon their domain.

• Tideborn Dwarves: From the windswept shores of the Tidecrest Isles emerge the Tideborn Dwarves. Masters of sea-forged craftsmanship, they carve their island halls from the rugged cliffs, adorned in armor crafted from the shells of ancient sea beasts. With a keen eye for navigation and maritime warfare, they defend their maritime realm against all who would challenge their sovereignty.

Elves:

• Silver Elves: In the sun-dappled glades of the Sylvanwood, the Silver Elves weave their enchantments. Their spires of silver rise amid the ancient trees, where they commune with the spirits of the forest. Swift as the breeze and silent as the moonlight, they guard their woodland realm with fierce devotion.​

 

• Dusk Elves: Shadows gather where the Dusk Elves tread, for they are hunters of the darkest prey. Born of ancient bloodlines and sworn to an unending vigil, they pursue the winged serpents that haunt the night skies. With bowstrings drawn taut and hearts afire with vengeance, they seek to banish the specter of an age long past.

 

• Sun Elves: Beneath the golden sun of the Arid Plains, the Sun Elves dwell in cities of sandstone and spires. Learned in the arts of magic and philosophy, they seek enlightenment amidst the shifting sands. Their scholars delve into the mysteries of the cosmos, while their warriors defend their desert home with unyielding resolve.

• Moon Elves: Cloaked in the mantle of night, the Moon Elves weave illusions and dance in shadow. Their citadels of silver gleam amidst the twilight, veiled from mortal eyes. Masters of subterfuge and secrecy, they navigate the intricate webs of intrigue that bind the realms together.

Humans (Kins):

• Easternling Humans: Across the rolling steppes and windswept plains, the Easternling Tribes roam as free as the wind. Mounted warriors and skilled archers, they roam the vast expanse in search of adventure and glory. Bound by honor and tradition, they stand as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.​

 

• Westerling Humans: Along the rugged coasts and storm-tossed seas, the Westerling Mariners ply their trade. Masters of navigation and commerce, they sail the azure waters in search of fortune and fame. Their ports bustle with activity, a melting pot of cultures and creeds from distant shores.

 

• Southern Humans: In the verdant valleys and fertile plains of the Southlands, the Southernling Farmers toil beneath the sun's gentle gaze. Guardians of the land and stewards of the earth, they nurture life from the soil and reap the bounty of the harvest. Their villages echo with laughter and song, celebrating the cycle of life and the blessings of nature.

• Northern Humans: Amidst the icy fjords and snow-capped peaks of the Northlands, the Northernling Tribes brave the harsh embrace of winter's embrace.
